Andrae’ Crouch “Going To See The King”

The world lost gospel music legend, Andraé Crouch, on Thursday, January 8, 2015. The 72-year-old award-winning gospel musician, recording artist, songwriter, arranger, choir director, and producer, passed away a few days after he suffered a heart attack.
Andraé was known as “the father of the modern gospel.” For more than 50 years he lived up to his title, bridging a variety of genres of music. He was a true pioneer in his field and changed the course of Christian contemporary music forever.
When Andraé was a young child, his father asked the Lord to instill in his son the gift of music. God heard his prayer and gifted Andraé with not only tremendous piano skills, but vocal and songwriting abilities beyond his years. Andraé, and his twin sister Sandra, became a huge part of the music program at their parents’ church in Pacoima, California. As they poured out their musical gifts in the services, God poured more music into them.
After Andraé entered high school, he formed his first group—the Church of God in Christ Singers. They were the first to record one of his most recognizable gospel hits—The Blood Will Never Lose Its Power. In 1965, he formed Andraé Crouch and the Disciples. The group united races with their broad appeal to both black and white audiences. They appeared on The Tonight Show and performed at Carnegie Hall and the
Hollywood
Bowl. The group toured in more than 60 countries. Giants in the industry credit Andraé for transforming contemporary Christian music with his unique style and intricate harmonies. His timeless classics including: Through It All, I’ve Got Confidence, Soon and Very Soon, My Tribute, Take Me Back, Bless His Holy Name, Tell Them, If Heaven Never Was Promised to Me, The Blood Will Never Lose Its Power, Jesus Is the Answer, and I Don’t Know Why Jesus Loved Me have been sung in churches across the world. As his notoriety grew, secular musicians took notice and invited him to help them with their projects. His influence extended far beyond the church walls. He worked as a producer and arranger for several artists including, Michael Jackson, Madonna, Quincy Jones, Diana Ross, and Elton John. His talent also infiltrated the film industry and he was able to add film credits to his impressive résumé for his work in Once upon a Forest, The Color Purple, The Lion King, and Free Willy.
His work over the years garnered nine Grammy Awards, six Dove Awards, an Oscar nomination, a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, numerous other prestigious honors, and in 1998, he was inducted into the Gospel Music Association’s Gospel Music Hall of Fame.
Andraé was proud of the ministry that he and his sister were involved in. They served as pastors of the New Christ Memorial Church in San Fernando, California, the church that was founded by their parents.
Andraé’s greatest desire was to leave a lasting legacy of hope for children. He certainly accomplished that, by
inspiring
the world with his testimony and unforgettable music. He might “have gone to see his King” and left us for a little while, but his songs will live on, and continue to be sung and bless generations to come.

ISRAEL HOUGHTON, CROWDER, DARLENE ZSCHECH AND PLANETSHAKERS AMONG RENOWNED ARTISTS HIGHLIGHTING 2015 NATIONAL WORSHIP LEADER CONFERENCES

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, Calif.—The National Worship Leader Conference (NWLC), the premier three-day training event designed to equip worship leaders and their teams, has announced a slate of renowned speakers and top artists for its four popular conferences around the country this year.
Bill & Gloria Gaither with David Neff; Dr. Leonard Sweet; Darlene Zschech; Dr. Marva Dawn; Dr. Scotty Smith; Dr. Reggie Kidd; Buddy Owens; Dr. Ron Allen; Pete Briscoe; Dr. Amos Yong; Steve Berger; and Mike Harland are among the keynote speakers and workshop presenters, while Israel Houghton; Crowder; Anthony Evans; Meredith Andrews; Planetshakers; The Brilliance; Zealand (featuring Phil Joel); and Charles Billingsley, along with many others, will lead worship at various conferences this year.
Showcasing the theme “Great Is The Lord!”, each NWLC offers three general sessions, over 70 workshops, and three nights of worship. Kicking-off at Washington, D.C.’s Centreville Baptist Church (May 19-21), 2015 conferences will also be held at Kansas City’s Church of the Resurrection (June 23-25); Cathedral of Faith in San Jose, California (July 28-30); and Bent Tree Bible Fellowship in Dallas (September 30-October 2).
“Worship Leader has a longstanding mission of encouraging New Song in every media, style, and tradition,” says Dr. Chuck Fromm, publisher and founder, Worship Leader magazine, Song Discovery and the National Worship Leader Conference. “This year we are focusing on Psalm 96 where we are invited to sing a New Song and to sing it among the nations for one reason: Great is the Lord! Join us as we gather to exhort one another to lead in biblical faithfulness, equip ourselves with the tools needed to lead our congregations, and take the opportunity, as a community of pastoral musicians, to exalt His name—declaring with one voice that indeed, Great is the Lord!”
“John Wesley created a worship revolution in the 18th century. It’s in our genes to be worship revolutionaries, and I know of no better place to be inspired and informed than the worship conferences put on by Worship Leader magazine,” says Dr. Leonard Sweet, best-selling author, pastor and popular speaker. “This conference hits on all cylinders, theoretical, theological, practical, skill-based. It offers a range of ideas, and musical expressions that are culturally diverse, and congregationally friendly. Those who attend go home revived, refreshed and with renewed vision for worship and love for God and people.”
Each NWLC offers face-to-face mentorship, customizable education opportunities, exposure to cutting-edge technology, and networking in the worship leader community. The convention also gathers the world’s most innovative worship companies for its exhibitor hall, bringing the best in church resources, music and gear, showcasing the latest trends and technologies in worship.
Additionally, conference attendees are encouraged to register for a Pre-Conference event held the evening prior to each NWLC conference. Exploring “The Art of Building Healthy Teams,” this year’s Pre-Conference covers such topics as “Building Your Worship Ministry Teams”; “Building Community”; “Dealing with Conflict”; and “Creating a Worship Culture.”
The National Worship Leader Conference (NWLC) is presented by Worship Leader magazine, one of the most respected and highly regarded resources for worship leaders, pastors, and worship teams. Founded in 2007, the conference is designed to meet the musical, theological, and media training needs of those who bring the services of worship to their congregations on a weekly basis.

SHAPE UP YOUR PRAYER LIFE

You’ve indulged in holiday treats both sweet and savory. You’re ready to get your physical self in shape through healthier eating and exercise coupled with fasting. But in what shape is your prayer life? If you desire to shape up your prayer life for 2015 and beyond, here are four key elements to enhance your approach to prayer.
1) God Wants to Commune with Us.
Prayer enables us to share our concerns, gratitude, and requests before God. But what should blow our mind is that the King of kings wants to commune with US! Merriam-Webster defines “commune” as “to communicate with someone or something in a very personal or spiritual way; intimacy in exchange of thoughts and feelings.” He wants to share with you. Our goal in 2015 and beyond is to enhance our daily commune with God; to give Him priority so He can direct our steps.
2) Want What God Wants.
When we come before God in prayer, we may be ready to lead with our laundry list of needs and desires. Instead, get quiet before the Lord and ask, “God, what do you want for me? What do you want for your people?” When we get interested in God’s business, we will find ourselves to be the solutions to many of these areas as well. Through prayer, we become co-workers with God.
3) The Lord’s Prayer: The Perfect Template and Approach to Prayer.
Many of us can recite The Lord’s Prayer found in Matthew 6:9-13. But is it more important that we recite the words, or more importantly, approach prayer as that spiritual template in which we should pray? Verse 9 begins, “This, then, is how you should pray: Our Father Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name.”
Here, we direct our prayers to our Heavenly Father, and worship His holy name; we reverence Him. Verse 10 reads, “Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven,” directs us to seek God’s will done in our lives, not our will. We “want what God wants.” Verse 11: “Give us this day our daily bread,” compels us to trust God daily for our provision. He is our source—not our bank accounts or jobs. Even moments when resources are tight, He provides our needs. Verse 12: “Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us,” means just that. Lord, forgive us and help us to forgive those who have wronged us. And finally, verse 13: “And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil, for Thine is the kingdom, and the power and the glory forever” means, “Lord, save me from the evil one of this world, and the evil that may reside within my own heart.”
Charles Holmes, Jr., a current affairs researcher for the Christian think tank, , says this regarding prayer: “We must get to a point where we’re joyfully doing His will here on Earth. We ask God to give us insight on how to advance His Kingdom on this Earth, to learn our role in His Kingdom, and that it would manifest in us.
4) Move in Obedience and Anticipate Distractions.
As you’re praying and walking in obedience to the Lord’s will for your life, prepare for distractions. Distractions can come from the enemy, from people (even unintentionally), or even from ourselves. God has given us each a domain in which to operate and He desires that we bear fruit. As our prayer life expands, so will our domain; our fruit/influence along with distractions. Each of us has a hierarchy of evil working against us. Anticipate the enemy’s attempt to derail or destroy your efforts. Remain prayerful and continue to move obediently in your domain. Only in Christ Jesus can we conquer the enemy’s resistance.
This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. (1 John 5:14)

Gospel great, Andraé Crouch, has gone on to glory at the age of 72. Hailed as a pioneer and one of the greatest, if not the greatest forerunners, in modern gospel music, Andraé Crouch has left an indelible mark on the industry and the world at large.
On Saturday evening, Crouch was admitted to the Northridge Hospital Medical Center after suffering a heart attack and remained until his passing Thursday afternoon, states his publicist, Brian Mayes.
Sandra Crouch, the singer’s twin-sister and co-pastor of their ministry, New Christ Memorial Church in San Fernando, CA, stated:
“Today my twin brother, womb-mate and best friend went home to be with the Lord.” She goes on to say, “I tried to keep him here but God loved him best.”

Update: Hillsong UNITED Documentary Sees Distribution Problems; Hillsong Church Remains Focused on Spreading Gospel

(Photo: Courtesy Grace Hill Media)

Hillsong Church says they remain committed to leading people to Christ through their music despite news of their documentary, "Hillsong - Let Hope Rise," being pulled from its distribution.
The documentary on the most famous worship band in the world was first announced by Alcon
Entertainment
and Warner Bros. last year. However, after being unable to close the rights deal for "Let Hope Rise," Warner Bros. has removed the film from its previously announced April 1 release date."The producers of the movie 'Let Hope Rise' have advised us that while Warner Bros. is no longer distributing the movie, there are ongoing positive discussions with other distributors who have indicated their interest in this project from the start," Hillsong Church said in a statement via Grace Hill Media.
"From Hillsong's perspective, we have always been in awe that people would be interested in making a movie about our journey, and we remain humbled that there is still such strong interest," the Australia-based church continued. "That said, this movie and everything else we do, all has one purpose, and that is pointing people to Jesus. That is and will always be, our priority."
Furthermore, the producers of "Let Hope Rise" including Matt Weaver of MediaWeaver Entertainment and Jonathan Bock of Grace Hill Media, said that a distribution deal was simply to blame for the pulled release date.
"Sometimes the biggest challenge of producing a film isn't actually making the movie," a message from the producers said before adding that production is "coming along beautifully."
"In reality, distributing and marketing a film worldwide has a ton of moving parts," the producers added. "As has been reported, unfortunately we just couldn't make a deal that was agreeable to all parties. This happens sometimes. The good news is that we are almost done with the film and already entertaining offers from several other studios. Stay tuned, as we expect to have news on that shortly."
A new trailer for "Let Hope Rise" is also expected in the near future, according to producers.
